If you're ready to be more adventurous in the kitchen while adding some more veggies to your plate, this Homemade Cauliflower Pizza Crust is just the recipe for you. You'll love how easy it is to make and how cheesy it tastes! The extra cheesy flavor comes from the addition of Parmesan and Mozzarella cheeses to the finely chopped cauliflower, which adds even more great flavor to the pizza overall. While it's got a slightly different consistency than your traditional breaded pizza crust, this veggie version is still quite tasty and offers a way to make your meal gluten free with a whole helping of extra veggies. It's a win-win!

Cooking Time15 min

Cooking Time - Textor until golden brown

Cooking Vessel Size9 x 13-inch baking sheet

Ingredients

  • 1 medium cauliflower head
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup Mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 500 degrees F, then place your head of cauliflower in a food processor and set to pulse until it has achieved a rice-like consistency. (You'll likely need to chop your cauliflower head up into pieces so that it all fits in the food processor).

  2. Microwave the cauliflower mixture in a microwave-safe bowl for 5 minutes. When done, transfer contents into a clean dish towel and squeeze all the liquid you can back into the empty bowl.

  3. Add one beaten egg to the mixture.

  4. Add Parmesan and Mozzarella cheeses to the mixture.

  5. Add in salt, garlic powder, dried basil and Italian seasoning.

  6. Mix and mash everything up with a fork until completely combined.

  7. Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment or wax paper, and spread the cauliflower mixture out onto the pan. Shape the crust however you like. We recommend a rectangle shape, but you could also choose to shape it in a circle.

  8. Bake at 500 degrees F for 10 - 15 minutes, or until the dough turns golden brown.

  9. When it's done baking, spread tomato sauce on top and cover it with Mozzarella cheese. Bake for another 3- 5 minutes to melt cheese.

This is a very interesting recipe. I like to make homemade pizza from time to time and I have used everything from tortillas to French bread. This recipe for a pizza crust made with cauliflower has peaked my interest. The next time I see a head of cauliflower in the produce isle, I will be sure to grab one for this recipe.

My boys are teenagers now and I have never had any trouble getting them to eat veggies. (knock on wood) However, it is always nice to find a different way to prepare them. We love pizza and we often make our own. This sounds like a treat and I will use this the next time we make homemade pizza.

Riced cauliflower has suddenly become a thing and I've noticed a couple of manufacturers offering bags of it in the store. My wife and I have riced cauliflower before and liked it very much. I think we have a couple of bags around that we froze and this recipe makes me want to get one out and try this. I had never thought of making it into a crust before and it sounds like a delicious idea. I'm definitely trying this!

I have made a lot of variations on pizza before - pizza rolls, pizza casseroles, and even have fried leftover spaghetti noodles in a skillet to make a pizza crust before, but have never seen it done with a cauliflower before. This would be an awesome way to get picky children to eat their vegetables! It might be yummy just to smear a little fresh basil pesto on this too.

Easy, healthy, and delicious all in one? This recipe is nearly perfect!
