If you're feeling like going all out, you might even consider making these amazing homemade breadsticks to sop up all that delicious leftover sauce on your plate (if there is any that is!)

Ingredients

  • 1 pint heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese
  • 3/4 cup Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped, fresh parsley
  • 8 ounces fettuccine noodles, cooked and drained

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan over medium heat add butter and cream cheese and stir until melted and smooth. Add garlic powder and salt and pepper. Stir in heavy cream. Simmer until slightly thickened, about 5 minutes.  

  2. Add the Parmesan cheese Simmer this for 15 - 20 minutes over low heat.

  3. Stir in fresh parsley.  

  4. Toss pasta lightly with sauce, coating well.

  5. Serve immediately.

Is there anything better than the rich, creamy flavor of Alfredo sauce? I don't think so. This recipe is so quick and easy to make, and so much better then the one that comes in a jar. You owe it to yourself to treat yourself to the "real" thing, and make this Classic Italian Fettuccine Alfredo. You and your family will be so glad you did.

Alfredo recipes have to be one of my favorite to make at home. It's so versatile, you can go from eating it as an appetizer with bread sticks to any style of pasta depending on the occasion. I've made it with chicken and broccoli or just plain with the pasta...but I'm betting it would be amazing with seafood too.

My family loves fettuccine alfredo so I have tried lots of different recipes, but never seem to be able to get a nice thick, rich sauce like you do at a restaurant. I'd rather make meals from scratch so I've never tried the jarred versions either. But reading this recipe, I wonder if cream cheese may be the secret ingredient?! I'm very keen to try this and see if it makes a difference! I think I would use fresh minced garlic rather than powdered garlic. Sounds delicious!!

I love pasta and anything Italian really. This is a delicious looking sauce. I was wondering what to make for supper tonight. I think I have my answer. I have some cream cheese in the fridge. I don't have any fettuccine but I do have some macaroni and I am going to use that. I will come back here tomorrow and post a picture!

Yum! Not too much time more than it takes to pop open a jar of the store bought stuff and heating it up. The video is nice and clear, and even though I've no problems with just using a jar of Alfredo sauce when I'm in a time crunch, it's good to be able to make my own when I have just a bit extra time.
