  • 2 cups stale bread crumbs
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cup scalded milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon sugar


  1. Soak bread crumbs in milk and melted butter.
  2. Add egg yolks and beat well.
  3. Sift flour with baking powder, salt and sugar and blend in liquid mixture.
  4. Fold in stiffly beaten egg whites and drop mixture by spoonfuls on a greased, hot griddle.
