Banana Carrot Cake Muffins
Banana Carrot Cake Muffins

"These healthy Banana Muffins taste like carrot cake. Plus they have no added sugar, butter or oil. When you look at the recipe, you may realize a few things are missing. First, there is no added sugar in this recipe. The only sweetness is from the fruit. If you like sweet muffins, you are going to miss it. We have cut back on sugar, so these are perfect for our palates. Try them for yourselves."

This is a really great, healthy muffin recipe. I like that it uses a nice blend of fruits plus walnuts. I think raisins could be used in place of pineapples if the latter isn't available. I usually add raisins when I'm making banana bread and it turns out pretty good.

This recipe has no added sugar! All of the sweetness is based on the mashed banana (make sure they are ripe with brown spots), the pineapple, and the applesauce. To really make sure it does not have added sugar, try to use unsweetened applesauce. These are some delicious, healthy muffins! If you are unfamiliar with wheat bran, it can be substituted with rice bran, oat bran, or buck wheat- these options may be easier for you to find!
