Frozen Fruit Cake Salad

This fruit salad recipe only has three easy steps and isn't your average fruit salad recipe. Frozen fruit cake salad is a great dessert recipe for a summer party.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 4 1/2 ounces whipped topping
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 13- ounce can crushed pineapple
  • 3 bananas
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts
  • red maraschino cherries

Instructions

  1. Mix ingredients and freeze for at least 24 hours.
     
  2. Use a loaf pan or angel food cake pan.
     
  3. Slice and serve just like a regular fruit cake.

one more time --Do we drain the pineapple and cherries?

fruitcake is sweet; the recipe 'name' is a joke with that much lemon juice..........I don't look forward to having an unbearable stomach ache just tasting your salad..............

What is the correct amount of lemon juice? Should the pineapple be drained?

obviousl typo error on lemon measurement. experiment with much less. i would start with two tsp and work up to how much tartness i like by increasing a tsp at a time.

Should the pineapple and cherries be drained or not? Ditto the question regarding the amount of lemon juice.

2 quarts of lemon juice?? It would be a powerful pucker of a soup! What is the correct measurement?
