For a peanut butter that brands itself as a super hero, I had high expectations for Peanut Butter Boy's peanut butter. As someone who eats peanut butter and jelly sandwiches nearly every day for lunch, I consider myself a peanut butter pro and I have some pretty tough standards for my spreads. When I first received my jar of Peanut Butter Boy's "Super Smooth" variety of peanut butter, I was definitely intrigued. This was unlike any other peanut butter I'd ever seen before. The texture was much more grainy and thick than most peanut butters, so of course I was eager to get my knife in there and try it out!
The first thing that struck me upon my first bite was the intense peanut flavor of the spread. This peanut butter really packs in a great nutty flavor and has a full peanut taste. It tastes like whole peanuts were shelled and ground up right into the jar. It reminded me of eating peanuts at the baseball stadium on a warm summer day. This is a peanut butter flavor that will stay with you long after you're done eating your sandwich. Not overly sweet but with a powerful, nutty punch, Peanut Butter Boy's peanut butter is unlike any other peanut butter on the market today.
Aside from the distinct flavor, the other thing that struck me most about this peanut butter was the texture. This peanut butter is really thick and has that great stick-to-the-roof-of-your-mouth quality that takes you right back to your happy childhood days of delicious PB&J sandwiches washed down with a cold glass of milk. This peanut butter is great for adults and kids alike. For parents it's a great option for kids' lunches because there's no extra sugar added. In fact, the peanut butter from Peanut Butter Boy is made with just three simple ingredients (peanuts, palm oil and sea salt), so you know exactly what you're getting and what you're feeding your kids. A full-flavored peanut butter that's not masked by extra oils, sugars and other unnecessary ingredients, plus one that's gluten-free and also vegan... what more could you ask for out of a jar of peanut butter?
