Toasted Pound Cake Elvis-Style

As if pound cake pan-toasted in melted butter wasn't enough, Our Good Life takes it to the next level with the addition of this incredible peanut butter and banana topping. This wonderful five-ingredient dessert can be table ready in just twenty-five minutes.

If you're hosting a spring celebration at your house, this is perfect for entertaining guests because it's not fussy but still elegant. Gather friends and family in the kitchen and make this while enjoying a glass of wine and continuing your dinner conversation.

Just slice and brown the pound cake, make the topping and finish it off with a dollop of whipped cream. You can even draft a friend to work on the topping while you toast the pound cake.

Cooking MethodPan-frying

Easy

Ingredients

  • 1 Pound Cake Loaf
  • 4 Bananas
  • 1 cup Peanut Butter
  • 2 tablespoons Butter, divided
  • 1 tablespoon Brown sugar

Instructions

  1. Slice pound cake into eight slices.

  2. Melt 1 T butter in your skillet.

  3. Add 3-4 slices of pound cake to skillet, cook on one side until golden brown, flip, and cook on the other side. Repeat until all slices are toasted. Remove slices from skillet.

  4. Melt 1 T butter into skillet. Slice bananas into the melted butter. Cook until softened.

  5. Add sugar and stir until dissolved. Add peanut butter, stir until peanut butter is melted.

  6. Add one slice of pound cake to a plate. Scoop bananas and peanut butter on top. Top with whipped cream. Serve warm.
