Strawberry Shortcake Loaf
Strawberry Shortcake Loaf is a simple strawberry shortcake recipe that is made in a loaf pan and cut into slices to serve. This cheap dessert recipe uses only 6 ingredients including bakery bread, strawberries and Cool Whip. The best thing about this recipe is that it can be made the night before so it's ready when you want to serve it. Strawberry shortcake is summer's favorite dessert, but you'll want to make this one year-round.

- 3 cups strawberries, sliced
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 14 slices bakery bread
- 2 tablespoons extra sugar
- 1 large container of Cool Whip
Combine berries with sugar. Let sit for 30 minutes.
Drain berries, save half the syrup .
Fold in 1 cup of Cool Whip into drained berries, set aside.
Trim crusts from bread slices, butter one side of each slice, sprinkle with the extra sugar.
Line bottom and sides of 8x4 loaf pan with 8 slices buttered side up. Trim to fit pan.
Drizzle 1/4 of syrup from berries and spoon half the berry mixture in pan, cover with 3 slices of bread buttered side up again, spread the remaining berries.
Place remaining slices on top buttered side down this time. Drizzle with remaining syrup.
- Cover with plastic wrap, chill overnight in the fridge. Place on serving plate and frost with the rest of the cool whip. Slice to serve.
