"Our Chocolate Overload Ice Cream Cake has layers of moist chocolate cake, creamy chocolate ice cream, crushed Oreo cookies, homemade hot fudge and sweet whipped cream! It is chocolate overload to the max and we love it! If ice cream and chocolate are your thing, then this cake has your name written all over it. We think you’ll agree, it’s the perfect dessert for a summertime party. And, the yummy layers make this cake extra delicious!"

Do a water test on your spring form cake pan, to see if it leaks. If it does, trace the bottom of the spring form pan on parchment paper, cut it out 1" larger than the circle. Place it inside the pan and press the bottom down tightly.

Make the hot fudge sauce while the cake is baking. Cool, but keep it at room temperature for easy drizzling. There will be leftover hot fudge. If using store bought hot fudge, you will need approximately 8 ounces, or 1 cup.

4 hours of the cook time is the freeze time needed for the cake.

Allow the cake to set at room temperature for 15-20 minutes before cutting with a large sharp knife.

What a great cake for a special occasion! I love layered cakes like this, even though they can be a bit of a pain to make due to the time required. Still, the finished result can be awesome. I like Oreo cookies, but I'd like to incorporate something a little different. I was thinking of using either the mint Oreos or the peanut butter Oreos for this. I think either would be a splendid addition to this wonderful cake. I definitely plan to make this.
