Slow Cooker Hash Brown Casserole

If you are looking for an extremely easy meal, then this casserole is for you! This hash brown casserole recipe only uses 5 ingredients. All you have to do is set-it and forget-it!

  • 2 pounds frozen hash browns
  • 12 ounces evaporated milk
  • 1 can cheddar cheese soup
  • 1 can cream of mushroom, chicken, or celery soup
  • 1 can french fried onions, divided
  1. Spray inside of slow cooker with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Add soups and milk; whisk until smooth.
  3. Stir in potatoes and half the onions, until well mixed.
  4. Sprinkle with remaining onions.
  5. Cover and cook on HIGH 3-1/2 hours or LOW 6-7 hours. Serve warm.

i made this last week,i added hamburger also. it was so good,creamy and cheesy,and the top ,nice and crunchy.friends loved it.

We thought the original recipe needed some meat to make this a one pot meal, so I used 1/2 c. hamburger and 1/3 c. gr. turkey. I browned that first with some Cavendars seasoning. I didn't add salt due to processed soups. We thought this came out too "mushy," so I'm thinking that using shoestring potatoes would be better. It was so bland, I added more Cavendars and some frozen grean beans the last hour of cooking. REal comfort food, but I don't know if I'll make it very often.


Oh this recipe sounds so good!!

Ham chunks work really well. I haven't tried any other meat.

any one try this with some kind of meat in it?
