  • 4 cups sugar
  • 3/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 3 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup cider vinegar
  • 1 dash salt

I always thought you needed to let the steam escape so it would cook some of the liquid down and it would thicken, am i wrong? Can it get thick with the lid on? Will try this and see.

@catinredhat 1752473, Please put the lid on the slow cooker. That way, no steam escapes while it's cooking. Hope this helps! --Editor of RecipeLion

Do we put the lid on the cooker or leave it off ?

It looks like the recipe has been updated now so that ALL the ingredients have the right quantities. I thought 4 apples seemed a little light.

Does anyone know what amount of cinnamon to use? It just says "3" without saying teaspoons, sticks, or whatever. Also, has anyone tried this recipe using Splenda? Thanks for your help.
