Chocolate Snowball Cookies
Chocolate Snowball Cookies are the perfect festive dessert for Christmas. Snowball cookie recipes turn normal cookies into pretty little snowballs, and this chocolate snowball cookie recipe makes great gifts and snacks for the holidays.
Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cup butter
- 2/3 cup white sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 cups chopped pecans
- 1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
Instructions
- In a medium mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Stir in the vanilla.
- Sift together the flour, salt and cocoa, and stir into the creamed mixture.
- Then stir in the nuts until well blended. Cover and chill for at least 2 hours.
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Roll chilled dough into 1 inch balls. Place on an unprepared cookie sheet about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 20 minutes in the preheated oven.
- Roll in confectioners sugar when cooled.
