Melting Moments with Chocolate


  • 1 cup unsifted all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup confectioners sugar
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter. softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup cocoa
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt


In a bowl. sift together flour, cornstarch, confectioners sugar, cocoa and salt. Set aside. In another bowl beat butter at medium speed until smooth. Beat in flour mixture and vanuilla until well blended. Refrigerate 1 hour. Shape into 1" balls. Place about 1 1/2" apart on ungreased cookie sheet; flatten with lightly floured fork. Bake 375 for 10-12 minutes or untiledges are lightly browned. Makes about 3 dozen cookies. If desired, melt some chocolate and drizzle over the cooled cookies; also you could place an almond or walnut piece on top of each cookie before baking.
