Grandmother Robinson's Pecan Sandies

Grandmother Robinson's Pecan Sandies are crumbly, nutty Christmas cookies that are impossible to put down. The warm flavor of this pecan sandies cookie recipe makes this an excellent Christmas cookie recipe for parties, gifts and more!


Makes about 4 dozen cookies.


  • 1 cup softened butter
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 cups flour, sifted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup ground pecans
  • powdered sugar


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Cream butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in vanilla.
  3. Gradually mix in flour and pecans until even.
  4. Form dough into 1 inch balls and place on parchment lined or greased cookie sheets.
  5. Bake 20-25 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool, then roll each cookie in powdered sugar.
