Though they may sound strange, Cahootz are actually a delicious cookie. Filled with white chocolate chips and macadamia nuts, these are perfect to give as a gift or serve at a luncheon.

Since these cookies are large, you may need to flatten them a little before baking.

  • 1 cup shortening (or butter)
  • 1 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 package white chocolate chips
  • 1 cup macadamia nuts

  1. Cream shortening and add sugars.
  2. Beat in vanilla and eggs.
  3. Add dry ingredients and mix well. Add chips and nuts.
  4. Use medium cookie scoop (or two tablespoons batter) and drop on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes.
