Rudolph's Ranger Cookies

Rudolph's Ranger Cookies combine dates, coconut, and crisp rice cereal -- all of a reindeer's favorites! This ranger cookies recipe has a great texture and a warm, wintry flavor.

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 1/4 cups flour, unbleached
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups crisp rice cereal
  • 1 1/2 cup flaked coconut
  • 1 cup dates, pitted and chopped
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  2. Cream sugars and butter together until smooth.

  3. Add egg, and vanilla; beat well.

  4. Stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt; stir dry ingredients into butter mixture.

  5. Fold in crisp rice cereal (like Rice Crispies or Corn Flakes), coconut, and dates.

  6. Form into 3/4-inch balls; place 2-1/2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.

  7. Bake until lightly browned, about 10-12 minutes. Cool slightly before removing to a rack to cool completely.

@congerf67 3382591: Thanks for bringing this to our attention! Many of our recipes are reader-submitted, so they don't always look perfect when they first show up on RecipeLion.com. We always fix typos and other errors when we come across them! I have updated this recipe and it should be correct now. Thanks for your help!

These look good and am going to try them. But, why are there so many typo's in your recipes?
