Home for the Holidays Honey Glazed Ham may just become your family's new favorite dish come Christmas and Easter. This easy holiday ham recipe will smell so irresistible while it's cooking, it's sure to make them come running to the table. Baked ham recipes are always a holiday dinner staple, so why not make the absolute best one out there? This recipe uses a pre-cooked ham, so all you have to do is dress it up with a to-die-for marinade that will have people asking for the recipe as they leave the table. If you're a fan of fruits and glazes, this is the holiday ham for you.

  • 1 spiral-sliced, pre-baked Smithfield ham
  • Juice of 2 oranges
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.

  2. Remove ham from packaging and place ham on a roasting pan or in a shallow baking dish.

  3. Tightly cover the ham with foil and heat approximately 20 minutes per pound of ham.

  4. Meanwhile, combine orange juice, zest, and honey in a small bowl and stir until evenly combined.

  5. Add brown sugar and cinnamon and mix well.

  6. Remove ham from the oven 30 minutes before the end of the heating time and remove foil.

  7. Apply glaze over the outside of the ham with a pastry brush or spoon, ensuring that the glaze runs in between the slices of ham.

  8. Return the glazed ham to the oven and heat uncovered for 25 to 30 minutes or until a meat thermometer inserted in the center of the ham reaches 160 degrees F.

There is nothing liked glazed ham for Christmas. That is the only time we seem to eat ham in our family (and turkey of course). We do both, after all it is only once a year! Here is a picture of our ham this year. I do it with apricot jam, brown sugar and vinegar but I love this honey glaze idea and would like to try it sometime.

The orange juice and zest gives a nice bright flavor to the glaze, and it is so fitting if you are using an orange blossom honey in the mix! Whenever I see ham on sale I pick one up and cook it on a lazy Saturday when I am home doing cleaning, bills, etc... and take advantage of it throughout the week! You can throw together tasty sandwiches, breakfast casseroles, or even as a ready to use pizza topping throughout the busy week!

This ham looks absolutely fabulous. We don't normally eat pork in our house, due to one of us not liking it, but we might have to convince them to let us make this for this Christmas season, as we have family coming over that love pork, and are bringing some.

I've been looking for a honey glaze recipe. I'm going to use this one. Firstly it looks absolutely amazing and secondly because honey is expensive and I don't want to waste it. I am making a ham and honey glazed duck for Christmas day. Then I'm going to baste my ham with this glaze. Any good duck recipes anyone? I'm still perusing this site for one. Hope I find it!

This looks delicious AND super easy. This is definitely the recipe I'll be making this Christmas.
