Chicken Wiggle

If you've never heard of Chicken Wiggle, it's probably because this is an age-old recipe that has been forgotten by many ... but that doesn't mean it's not delicious! It's an old-fashioned recipe for chicken with vegetables and noodles in a delicious broth. One taste of this delicious dish and you'll be reminded of the kind of good old-fashioned comfort food you grew up on. It's especially great for when you're in the mood for something comforting.

Ingredients

  • 2 to 4 pound whole chicken
  • 1/2 cup margarine or butter
  • 2 medium onions, chopped
  • 2 medium green peppers, chopped
  • 1 small can sliced mushrooms
  • 1 small can pimentos
  • 1/2 small bottle Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Tabasco Sauce
  • 1 pound egg noodles
  • 1 small can peas

Instructions

  1. Cook chicken in boiling water in a large saucepan until no longer pink. Reserve the broth. When chicken is cooked, debone and cut into small pieces.
     
  2. Saute the chopped onions, peppers, mushrooms and pimentos in a skillet with the margarine or butter until tender. Add Tabasco sauce and Worcestershire sauce to the sauteed vegetables and stir.
     
  3. Cook noodles in the broth for 10 minutes, salt and pepper to taste. Add cut up chicken and sauteed vegetables to the noodles and broth. Bring to a boil before serving.

What an awesome recipe. My son is hooked on those noodles that only take 2 minutes to prepare. This is a fresh, healthier version of that. I once did try and make my own but it was not a success at all. I think recipe may be the answer. Thanks for this!!
