Dante's Favorite Beef Casserole is a creamy ground beef pasta casserole with a bit of a kick that you are sure to enjoy! This ground beef casserole is hearty and filling and makes a great family dinner or the perfect potluck bring-along dish. We've all heard of chicken alfredo, but what about trying the beef version? If you love ground beef and creamy pasta sauce, this is the casserole for you. Made with egg noodles, yummy alfredo sauce and pimentos, this is one casserole recipe that will stand out in a crowd.

Ingredients

  • 1 bag egg noodles
  • 1 1/2 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 jar Alfredo sauce
  • 1 jar pimentos
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Prepare pasta according to package directions.

  2. While pasta is cooking, heat a skillet to medium-high heat. Brown ground beef. Add salt and garlic powder. Drain and set aside.

  3. Drain pasta and place in bottom of 9x13-inch baking dish. Layer ground beef on top of pasta.

  4. Empty contents of Alfredo sauce into a mixing bowl. Fold in pimentos

  5. Pour sauce mixture into baking dish and gently mix together until pasta and beef are thoroughly coated with sauce.

  6. Bake, covered, for 30 minutes.

This is another one that sounds like a comforting weeknight meal. Interesting choice of ingredients, especially with the pimentos. I'll have to give it a go.

I can't help but think of a homemade version of Hamburger Helper when I see this recipe...and when you put a creamy Alfredo sauce with pimentos and ground beef all together it's gonna be a great night. Maybe instead of baking the sauce into the noodles, you can toss it into some angel hair or linguine pasta and serve it up with your favorite rolls. Or...how about an appetizer using the sauce as a hearty dip and some toasty Crostinis. Oh my gosh I'm drooling!

This would make a great dinner for weeknights when there is limited time to cook. I would use lean ground beef in this recipe. The egg noodles should be drained while they are still underdone so that they will have a good consistency in the casserole because they will continue to cook in the oven.

We did not include the pimentos (just because I really do not like them at all) and my man added some chopped chili fresh from the garden but, other than that, no other changes were made. The finished dish was extremely tasty, the pasta was perfectly cooked and all the flavors had melded beautifully.
