Sweet Fungi (jamaican)

Ingredients

  • 5 cups boiling water
  • salt
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups cornmeal

Instructions

To rapidly boiling water, add salt and sprinkle cornmeal slowly. Allow water to boil over meal, a few minutes. stirring briskly to prevent lumping. when well combined, add shortening. Cover and steam for 5-10 minutes, stirring often. Serve hot.
