(1 Votes)

Nothing says Christmas like homemade fudge, and this easy recipe can easily be adapted to make any flavor fudge you like. Traditional Christmas Fudge is a simple fudge recipe that's perfect for Christmas cookie exchanges, to serve at a holiday party, or even to make during the hotter months when you don't want to turn on your oven. Marshmallows add a creamy, smooth texture that everyone will love.

Makes: 2

Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 2/3 cup undiluted evaporated milk
  • 1 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups (4 ounces) miniature marshmallows
  • 1 1/2 cup (9 ounces) semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
  1. Combine butter, evaporated milk, sugar and salt in a medium, heavy saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Boil for 4 to 5 minutes, stirring constantly.

  2. Remove from heat. Stir in marshmallows, chocolate chips, nuts and vanilla. Stir vigorously for 1 minute or until marshmallows are melted.

  3. Pour into a foil-lined 8-inch square baking pan. Sprinkle with additional pecans, if desired. Chill until firm.

Notes

This is an old fashioned fudge recipe with marshmallows! It's very easy to make with ingredients you probably already have in your pantry and refrigerator. I like that the author suggests variations of this fudge with different kinds of chips. I think white chocolate chips would be good, too! Yummy!
