Sinfully Simple 7-Up Bundt Cake

This easy cake recipe is a tried and true favorite! Sinfully Simple 7-Up Bundt Cake uses 7-Up as its key ingredient to make a wonderfully dense yet moist lemon Bundt cake. Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup margarine
  • 3 cups flour
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice or 1 tablespoon lemon extract
  • 5 eggs
  • 3/4 cup 7-Up

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
     
  2. Cream sugar and margarine and beat until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, and beat well. Add flour. Beat in lemon juice and 7-Up.
     
  3. Pour batter into well greased and floured Bundt pan. Bake for 1 hour and 15 minutes.

This is a great cake I've made it many times I am looking at the little booklet that came with my bundt pan years ago It actually calls for BUTTER-not sure if I ever made it with margarine or not-might have years ago The recipe also calls for TBL spoons of Lemon Extract It is not too strong Lemon juice would have a much milder flavor Be sure to beat plenty long enough--there is NO Leavening in recipe Friend made it one time and did not rise very well The texture is very fine-FAB Be sure to measure flour and not weigh I made this a couple of weeks ago and decided to weigh flour like the pros say Big Mistake I've made this over years and always get rave reviews from guests Last week cake was greasy and sprawled out after I turned out of pan Silly to try toRead More change perfection Thank goodness I had no guests Good Luck

Is this recipe correct in saying 1.5 cups butter and 3 cups sugar.? Would like to make it but want to be sure. Thanks
