I have one question. Do you actually prepare these recipes before you post them? I notice so many mistakes and misprints and changes to several of them. When you apologize and mention that your fixing a recipe, have you physically prepared it and ate it yourselves before several folks found discrepancies, then changed it?

This recipe has been updated to include correct ingredients and instructions. We are sorry for any inconvenience caused by the previous version of this recipe. We hope the changes we made result in a delicious Sara Lee Copycat Pound Cake! - The RecipeLion Team

This recipe has obvious mistakes in the list of ingredients and in the instructions. I hope inexperienced bakers aren't tempted to waste their time and resources on it.

There is something very wrong with this recipe. I tried it and wasted time and a pound of butter and what is this a pound of flour? I looked up the equivalent of that and it was 4 CUPS of flour. This in addition to a cup of cake flour for 1 loaf pan. No way!!! I have baked cake for a long time and I should have know better to go on with this recipe, especially when making pound cake. Terrible baking experience!

I made this cake, my mistake was I didn't read the comments first.PLEASE take this recipe down it is NASTY !!! I mixed everything up and saw that something was wrong it needed more liquid,so I looked it back up and read the comments .oh well it was to late now might as well bake it .taste almost like shortbread, center was not cooked enough top was getting to brown and crumbled when you cut it YUCK my first pound cake was a flop I will try another recipe for pound cake

THE RECIPES ARE AWSOME, BUY NO HIGH ALTITUDE CORRECTIONS PLEASE ADD THEM UP .THANK YOU

What is a cake flower? do you mean cake flour?

after all the comment, I don't think I would attempt to make it.

1 lb. of flour and then 1 cup? No mention of when to add butter - presume to mix with sugar. 1/4 sugar does not seem to be enough. Please clarify.

Here is another that sounds closer to the one above: Sara Lee Pound cake was one of my first recipes at CopyKat.com, after reading the ingredients on the package, I set out to re-create this famous pound cake just like the original. Ingredients 1/4 pound or 1 stick unsalted butter 3/4 cup sugar 3 eggs 1 cup cake flour 2 tablespoons dry powdered milk 1 tablespoon corn syrup juice of half a small lemon 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon vanilla 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg 1/2 teaspoon baking powder 1/4 teaspoon mace (optional)

Google Sara Lee Copy Cat Pound Cake and the ingredients are as follows: Yield: 1 11Servings Sizeloaf Update. loaf .Units: US | Metric .1/2 lb butter 2 cups powdered sugar 2 large eggs 3 tablespoons sour cream 1 2/3 cups flour 2 teaspoons lemon extract 1 teaspoon vanilla Sounds more on track hope this is helpful

The recipe for this cake has numerous errors in it.....please review it and repost it....I would like to have the corrected version.....thanks much......

I don't think this recipe is correct, 1 pound of flour, 1/4 cup sugar, please advise.

Geeze, take a deep breath! Anyone who has ever made a pound cake before knows to cream the sugar and butter. The flour is added in step 3 so you can assume it isn't supposed to be added in step one. Now go bake your cake! :-) It's the holiday's give people a break!

this is a very CONFUSING recipe: NEVER HEARD OF CREAMING FLOUR & SUGAR WITHOUT A SHORTENING OF SOME SORT!!! HEARD OF 'SIFTING TWO DRY INGREDIENTS TOGETHER' ...BUT CREAMING???

Whom ever wrote the recipie needs to go back to 3rd grade.......flower???? flour!!

This recipe does not sound right... 1 pound of flour (that's approx 3 cups?) plus 1 cup cake flour - with only 1/4 cup sugar and 1/2 teaspoon of baking powder ?? - then you cream the sugar and flour together until light and fluffy!

Thank you for submitting this recipe I had been looking for it for a long time. At the time when I had this recipe it only called for one flavoring which I used vanilla. Thanks again Recipe Lion)

Tremaine, since other comments state that the recipe does not seem correct. You are thanking for the recipe, did you actually make it, and if so how did it turn out. What is Cake Flower as indicated in the recipe and how did it turn out by following the directions that indicated to mix sugar and flour????
