Cooking Time15 min

Easy

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cream cheese at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese
  • 3 cloves finely minced garlic
  • 1 (13.8-ounce) tube refrigerated pizza crust
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon dried basil leaves
  • salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a bowl combine cream cheese, shredded cheese and minced garlic, until well mixed. Season well with salt and pepper.

  3. Unroll the pizza crust and press it flat. Cut into 36 equal size squares.

  4. Place a small teaspoon of the cheese mixture on each square. Pull up corners and pinch to seal, rolling the dough into a ball shape.

  5. Place on the baking sheet in rows: 8 at the bottom, then 7, then 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 to form a tree shape.

  6. Combine butter and basil in a small bowl. Brush half this mixture over the dough balls and bake for about 15 minutes until nicely browned. Immediately brush with the remaining butter mixture (rewarm if necessary).

  7. Carefully slide to a serving tray and serve with a side of marinara sauce for dipping.

WOW this looks amazing! I think I'm going to have to make this when my friends come to visit (who needs Christmas for as an excuse!)

This looks like it would be dangerous to share with my family... in the sense that we'd be fighting over every last bite. It reminds me of Pizza Hut's stuffed crust (which I LOVE), except bite-sized!

This a great idea! I usually make pizza dough from scratch, but for a quicker version, store bought pizza dough is a great idea! And this could be shaped into a heart for Valentine's Day or lots of other shapes! I wonder if this would work with a chocolate sauce or caramel dip for a sweet dessert idea?

This looks amazing and is such a niche idea. We're fans of making things ourselves, so we'll probably end up making the pizza dough ourselves. It's a bit too late for Christmas so we'll probably make a different shape instead of a Christmas Tree. We'll also probably end up using Cheddar instead of Mozzarella because of pricing of the two.

It looks so good. Oh my goodness. I might even risk using my oven for this. I can't believe cooking is actually this easy!

This is such a cute idea. It would be great to have at a holiday party or for family munching while watching Christmas movies. It calls for ready made pizza dough, but you could always make the dough yourself and make the rest as directed. If you wanted another version, you could mix in some meat or chopped veggies to the filling. Just a little or it would be too much for the dough.
