Red Lobster's Famous Biscuits

Red Lobsters Famous Biscuits

Seafood aside, Red Lobster's Famous Biscuits are one of the best things about going there. Those buttery, flakey, Cheddar biscuits are so good, we had to figure out how to make the recipe ourselves. While this may not be an exact match, we think it's pretty darn close. This copycat red lobster biscuits recipe is great with a casual weeknight dinner, but it also is a perfect idea for the holidays as well. What Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner couldn't use a basket of these delicious biscuits to complement the meal?

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 tablespoon salt
  • 6 tablespoons cold butter, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • For the Topping
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F, and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, garlic and salt. Whisk to mix completely.

  3. Add butter and cut in with pastry cutter until the butter is the size of small peas.

  4. Add the cheese and stir until the cheese is coated with flour. With the mixer running on low, add the buttermilk and mix just until the liquid is absorbed. Do not over mix at this stage.

  5. Scoop dough into even mounds on the bake sheet, placing them 2 inches apart.

  6. Bake immediately for about 15 minutes the biscuits will be golden brown when done.

  7. While biscuits bake, place butter, parsley, garlic and salt into a bowl. When the biscuits come out of the oven immediately brush them with the butter and herb mixture. Serve while warm.

Although I've never actually stepped foot into a Red Lobster restaurant...as many times as I've heard about their famous biscuits it makes me feel as if I had. So out of curiosity, I've decided to give it a try. I mean who can go wrong with garlic, cheese, and bread right? And, I'm not sure why but when I think of these biscuits and what dish I'd make to go with them...the only thing that comes to mind is smothering them in a rich gravy with roasted chicken. Yum!

Now a days it is so easy to crack open a tube of biscuits and call it a day, but this recipe for Red Lobster's Famous Biscuits is so easy to prepare, and tastes so much better, you may never serve tube biscuits again. Show your family some love and treat them to real homemade, delicious biscuits. They will thank you for it.

It's funny how much we all love the simple biscuits at a seafood restaurant! These are so good, buttery and garlicky. I'm adding the to a meal next week.

Oh, I can almost taste these. One of the best parts of going to Red Lobster are the biscuits. They will be so fun to make at home. I never have fresh parsley so I hope the dried will be okay. And anything made with buttermilk has got to be good. Looking forward to serving these this week, hopefully, with some fresh telapia.

These biscuits are incredible. I can't wait to make these bad boys at home. YES!

These are half of the reason I go to Red Lobster! I can't wait to make them myself!!

I tried these biscuits and they were delicious. Buttery, garlicky, and cheesy.... YUM. I wanted to eat them all.

These biscuits are awesome. I don't get to Red Lobster much, but I love being able to make them at home. Besides seafood, I have made them alongside Italian dishes. I did eat them when I did get to go to Red Lobster, but now I have to eat gluten free so my choice is making them subbing all purpose gluten free flour. Easy to make too!
