Christmas Wreath Bread

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1/2 cup.water
  • 1/4 cup butter-cut into pieces
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 3 coup bread flour
  • 2 to 2 1/2 tsp yeast
  • 1 egg, beaten with 1 tablespoon water
  • sesame seeds for sprinkling

Instructions

18 bow knot rolls. Process dough through the dough cycle. Prepare a 12" circle of bakers parchment (butter it) and place on lightly greased pan. When dough is complete, divide into 18 pieces. Roll each piece into 8" rope and tie into a knot. Arrange around 12" circle (Sides barely touching, all knots pointing the same way). Cover and let rise in warm place till doubles about 20 minutes. Preheat oven to 400F. Brush glaze over rolls. Sprinkle with seeds. Bake 18-25 minutes. Remove from sheet and cool on rack 15 minutesbefore serving. Eat the same day.
