You basically just need to gather your ingredients, throw them in your slow cooker, and wait till it's done. It's that simple. Because this dish cooks for 6-7 hours, the flavors that you'll achieve are absolutely unbeatable. This is a perfect dinner for a cold winter night, a holiday dinner, or any weeknight where you're feeling something hearty that requires minimal effort or supervision. 

Ingredients

  • 3 pounds beef chuck roast, boneless
  • garlic salt and pepper seasoning
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 sprigs of fresh thyme
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 1 cup red wine
  • 1/3 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 1 (14-1/2-ounce) can beef broth
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 medium potatoes, cut into bite size pieces
  • baby carrots, about a bag

Instructions

  1. Add beef to slow cooker.

  2. Season with garlic salt and pepper seasoning, then add in garlic cloves, sliced onion, potatoes, baby carrots, balsamic vinegar, beef broth, red wine, and sprigs of thyme.

  3. Cook on high for 6-7 hours

Pot roast is the best.

This is truly a potroast just like grandma used to make! Juicy and tender beef roast with soft, flavorful vegetables and wonderful sauce. We simply could not stop eating it AND the whole thing had cooked itself in the slow cooker which I was busy with my working day! What could be better?
