Easy Brisket

Ingredients

  • 5 to 7 lb. brisket well trimmed of fat
  • 1 tbs oregano
  • 1 tbs thyme
  • 2 bay leaves

Instructions

Wash brisket and pat dry with paper towel. sprinkle with oragano and tyme. adjust amounts to suit but don't over do it. Place in pan to fit brisket. (at least 2 inches deep). Place bay leaves on top. Cover pan with foil wrap and tie with string as tightly as possible. Place in oven at 275 degrees F. Cook/bake for 5 1/2 to 6 hours. Remove brisket to plate. Remove bay leaves. Drippings make very good gravey. Can be served hot over bread or cold to make sandwiches. Reheats well.
