Oven Baked Sweet & Sour Chicken

Make a classic Chinese takeout dish in your own kitchen with this super simple recipe for Oven Baked Sweet and Sour Chicken. Not only is this Asian-inspired dish so easy to prepare, it's also better for you than the fried variety you get at your local Chinese restaurant. Made with basic ingredients like pineapple, brown sugar and Worcestershire sauce and then baked in the oven for a couple of hours, this easy chicken recipe is as simple as they come. Delicious and effortless to prepare... you can't go wrong with this sweet and sour chicken recipe!

Cooking Time2 hr

Ingredients

  • 1 chicken, cut-up and thawed
  • pancake flour
  • 1 can mushrooms
  • 1 can pineapple bits and juice
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
     
  2. Roll chicken pieces in pancake flour.
     
  3. Combine rest of ingredients and spoon this mixture over chicken pieces.
     
  4. Bake for approximately 2 hours or until chicken is fully cooked. Leave chicken uncovered for last 45 minutes, turning in the juices so it browns nicely.
