Mom’s Easy Asian Beef Stir-Fry Recipe is one you'll be excited to make for dinner no matter the ocassion. This easy Asian stir fry recipe will make the need to order from that old Chinese takeout spot unnecessary, because you'll have better quality dish that's much healthier for you ready in under an hour. Something unique to this recipe is the fact that it uses a vacumn-sealed bag, which allows your beef to marinate in a delicious sauce until it's ready to cook. Seal up your sauce and beef, chill for a half hour and then you're ready to throw everything on the wok and cook. Add the vegetable medley of your choice, cook up a little white rice for serving, and you'll have an Asian-inspired meal that's sure to please.

  • For Marinade
  • 1/4 cup sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 cup soy suace
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon Rice Wine Vinegar
  • Additional Stir Fry Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons sesame oil
  • 1 (1.5-2 pound) flank steak, cut into thin strips
  • 1/2 a yellow onion, chopped
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, minced
  • 1 cup shredded carrots
  • 1 cup snow peas, trimmed
  • 1 red bell pepper, julienned
  • 1 bunch of scallions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon white sesame seeds


  1. Place all the marinade ingredients in a vacuum sealer bag with the sliced beef.

  2. Seal the bag using the Oliso Vacuum Sealer. Let sit for 30 minutes in the refrigerator. –OR- Marinate in the refrigerator overnight.

  3. Heat 2 tablespoons sesame oil in a wok.

  4. Add the marinade with the beef.

  5. Stir fry the beef for 5-7 minutes until it is browned on all sides. Remove the beef from the pan and set aside.

  6. Add the onions and let cook for 3-5 minutes until starting to turn translucent.

  7. Add the garlic and ginger. Let cook for an additional minute.

  8. Add the bell pepper, snow peas, and carrots. Cook until soft.

  9. Add the beef back to the pan and stir to combine all the ingredients.

  10. Garnish with chopped scallions and sesame seeds.

In our home we all love stir fries and this is a good one! Stir frying is also my favorite way of cooking veg so we added some cauliflower, broccolli, snap peas. I don't like the taste of sesame oil so used peanut oil but made no other changes. As expected, it was really yummy and the family all voted it 10 out of 10!

This is a really nice stir-fry recipe though I wonder if the vacuum sealer is really necessary. Does it speed up the marinade process appreciably? I'm content with simply sealing it in a plastic zip-loc bag and letting it rest in the refrigerator for a few hours or overnight. I think we do have a vacuum sealer around here, so it might be worthwhile to dig it out and see if there's any real difference. Tasty recipe, though.
