Bacon and Cream Cheese Stuffed Mushrooms

This bacon and cream cheese stuffed mushrooms recipe is an interesting appetizer that if served at your next event, will definitely get some positive feedback.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 4-6 strips of bacon, fried and crumbled; reserve fat
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 20-25 large mushrooms, stems removed
  • 8 mushroom stems, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Saute onion and mushroom stems in bacon fat until tender.
     
  2. Drain off excess fat. Mix crumbled bacon, onion and stems with softened cream cheese until the mixture is workable.
     
  3. Stuff each mushroom and bake at 350 deg F for 10-15 minutes.
     
  4. Finish under the broiler just until tops are golden.

My husband can eat mushrooms til the cows come home. He will love these little bites because bacon and cheese just make everything better. Do you use any particular kind of mushroom for the recipe. I find he is partial to portabellos, but they are a bit big maybe for this recipe.

@ gahatch1 0034726, If you are having trouble printing, your best bet may be to copy and paste it into a Word document and print it that way. Another option is to highlight the text you wish to print, go to File>Print, and click "Selection" as opposed to "All" in the print settings. I hope this helps! -Editors of RecipeLion

I like the recipes but was seriously annoyed when I printed two of them and had to waste ink printing 2 pages of ads to subscribe to Ladies Home Journal! Yes, it's a good buy, but whatever I saved will now have to be spent buying paper and ink cartridges for my printer! Not happy.
