Veggie Burgers

Ingredients

  • 1 cup walnuts
  • 1-1/2 cups cooked rice
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoon vegetarian bacon bits
  • 2 tablespoon barbecue sauce
  • salt and pepper
  • garlic powder
  • flour
  • oil for frying

Instructions

Blend the walnuts, rice, bacon bits, Barbecue sauce, and spices into a paste. Saute the onions and add them to the mix. Add enough flour so that it forms a workable dough. Shape into 6 patties and sprinkle flour onto the outsides of the patties. Chill. Fry in oil in preheated electric skillet until heated through. Serve with extra barbecue sauce on a bun, perhaps with onion, lettuce or tomato.
