"Saging na saba(saba banana) is known to be the healthiest variety of bananas, but do you know that even its peeling is healthy too? Yes, you read it right. The mothers in our church had a cooking fest activity and I was in awe, seeing that they only used saba peeling in making these flavorful burger patties. It is actually easy and simple to make. Why not give less waste to the environment by trying out this recipe today? Balat ng saging na saba burger patties are surely for the win!"

Ingredients

  • 8 pcs saba(banana) peeling
  • 4 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 red onion, minced
  • black pepper
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • salt
  • cooking oil for frying
  1. Wash the banana peelings and put them into a pot and boil until soft. Be careful not to overcook the peelings. Remove from heat and let it cool.

  2. Once cooled, chop them into tiny bits.

  3. Mix in garlic, onion, bread crumbs, and one large egg. Mix until fully incorporated.

  4. Season with ground black pepper and salt. Mix well.

  5. Get about 1/4 cup of the mixture and shape into a ball using your hands. carefully flatten it into a patty shape.

  6. Heat pan with oil and fry the patties until golden brown. Drain excess oil.
