Mashed Potatoes with Endive

Ingredients

  • 2 kg potatoes
  • salt
  • 500 cc milk
  • 50 gram butter
  • 1 kg endive
  • 150 gram bacon
  • nutmeg
  • pepper

Instructions

For 4 persons:. Peel and wash potatoes and cook them in little water with salt for 20-25 minutes until they are done. Cut the bacon in cubes and fry them in a dry pan until crisp. Wash the endive and cut in very small strips. Drain the potatoes and mash with the boiling milk. Add the butter for smoothness. Add the endive, heat well through and flavour with nutmeg and pepper. Serve directly. Add the bacon or sprinkle these over the 'stamppot'.
