Crazy Creamed Peas

You're sure to go crazy for simple side dishes like this vegetable recipe. These Crazy Creamed Peas are easy as ever to make and will no doubt be a hit with even the pickiest eater.

Ingredients

  • 1 (10-ounce) package frozen peas
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
  • dash of white pepper
  • dash of nutmeg
  • 1 cup warm milk

Instructions

  1. In a covered saucepan, cook peas in boiling, salted water until tender, about 10 minutes. Drain peas well.
     
  2. Meanwhile, melt butter in saucepan over low heat. Blend in flour, salt, white pepper, nutmeg and dry mustard. (Using a wire whisk is the best).
     
  3. Add warm milk all at once; cook and stir until thickened and bubbly. Pour over hot vegetables; stir to coat vegetables.
