Hobo Stew With Chicken & Veggies

"We spend a lot of time with family and friends in the summer months. Since winters here in Wisconsin are so brutal and cold, we have to cram a lot into just a few short months so we often have large outdoor gatherings. We’ll trade off on hosting and do a pot luck type meal. My husband’s aunt wanted to do something new and different one year, so she hosted a Farmer’s Dinner. Her husband built a large table to fit the entire family and she grabbed dishes from thrift stores and anywhere else she could find some. She set tablecloths across the table, set the table with mismatched dishes and ?used mason jars for wildflower vases as centerpieces. Everyone was required to bring a dish made from fresh ingredients from their gardens."
