Easy New England Clam Chowder

"One of our family’s favorite soups of all time is New England Clam Chowder! Creamy, filling and wonderful, there is nothing better! This is the highlight of perfect soup recipes for the autumn season! Clam bake season! Although I have prepared this chowder with fresh clams, they are sometimes hard to find, expensive and time consuming. Really, you have to steam the clams a day ahead of time to get them ready for the chowder unless you have hours to spare! And who has that kind of time? I used Bumble Bee whole baby clams, bottled clam juice and 2% milk in place of half and half. For those who have a lactose intolerance, lactose free milk can be used. I added a splash of liquid smoke for a tasty difference! Preparation time for this chowder is about 30 minutes; cook time around 50 minutes! Talk about a simple yet hearty and delicious meal for a cold fall night! Try this for dinner with a crisp green salad and fresh bread or crackers! Serves 6 to 8"

NotesFor those with lactose intolerance, lactose free milk can be substituted for the milk in this recipe.
