Ingredients

  • 1 pound stew beef, cubed
  • 1 can stewed tomatoes
  • 3 potatoes, peeled and diced
  • 2 carrots, peeled and pennied
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • 3 peppercorns
  • 1 bayleaf
  • 1 celery stalk, chopped
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 4 cup water
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon parsley, chopped
  • 2 beef bouillon cubes
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cup frozen mixed vegetables
  • 1/2 cup red wine

Instructions

  1. Place all ingredients except frozen vegetables in slow cooker. Turn on low and cover; cook for 6 hours.
     
  2. Thirty minutes before serving turn up to high and add frozen veggies. Stir and cover.
     
  3. Remove the bayleaf before serving.
