English Toffee Scones

A delicious scone recipe can be modified countless ways and can be made to suit your palette. Try these delicious English Toffee Scones from Jessica at Mad in Crafts for her delicious take on scones. Made with Heath bar toffee, they are incredible!

Ingredients

  • 2 cup sifted flour
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 6 tablespoon unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3/4 cup toffee bits, from Heath Bar or just toffee bits.

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.

  2. Sift flour well. Mix together dry ingredients. Cut in butter using a fork or pastry cutter.

  3. Add buttermilk substitute, egg, and vanilla. Mix in toffee bits.

  4. Flour your hands well. Create a 8-9 inch circle of dough on an ungreased cookie sheet.

  5. Sprinkle the top of the dough with an additional tablespoon of flour. Cut into wedges.

  6. Bake for about 15 minutes or until golden brown.
