Whiskey Sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 stick unsalted butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup whiskey, bourbon or rum

Instructions

Melt butter over medium heat. Add sugar and stir until smooth. (The sugar will not dissolve completely.) Beat egg; add to the hot sauce, while whipping vigourously with a beater or whisk. Remove sauce from the heat. Allow to cool 3 minutes. Stir in your choice of spirits. Pour over warm bread pudding.
