The Deli Dog

The Deli Dog

"Ever been at a party studying the neglected cold cuts tray and thought there has to be a better way? Well, we have (we’re a riot at parties) and the result is the combination of two Chicago party staples, merged to form an unmatched combo. We particularly enjoy how the hot dog stepped in to fill the sometimes hard to find mortadella’s spot. This is the perfect recipe for grilling, having a picnic, or tailgating."

Serves1

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp Dried Italian seasoning
  • 2 Tbsp. Olive oil
  • 1 1/2 Tbsp. Red wine vinegar
  • 1 Plain S. Rosen’s hot dog bun, prepared your favorite way
  • 1 Vienna Beef hot dog, prepared your favorite way
  • 1 Slice of provolone cheese, torn in halves
  • 2 Slices of salami
  • 2 Pieces of pepperoni
  • 2 Roma tomato half slices
  • Shredded iceberg lettuce
  1. Prepare the Italian vinaigrette: place the olive oil, vinegar, and seasoning in a lidded jar (like a mason jar). Shake vigorously.

  2. Start by placing the provolone, salami, and pepperoni in the bun, add the prepared hot dog, and then place the tomato onto the hot dog.

  3. Toss a handful of shredded iceberg lettuce in a separate bowl with about a tsp of Italian vinaigrette and top the hot dog bun. Enjoy!
