Green Bean and Ham Soup

Ingredients

  • 4 C. fresh green beans, cut into 1 in pieces
  • 3 C. potatoes, peeled and cut into 1 in pieces
  • 2 C.ham, cooked and cubed
  • 1 C chopped onion (1 large)
  • 4 C. water
  • 1 tbs. oil
  • 1/4 c all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp.salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 C. milk, half and half or light cream

Instructions

Makes 6 servings (10 c.). Place beans, potatoes, ham, onion, water and salt in pressure cooker. Lock lid into place. Over high heat, bring to pressure, reduce heat just enough to maintain pressure, cook 5 min. Quick release the pressure. Carefully remove lid. Sift together flour, salt, pepper, milk until smooth. Add to cooker. Cook over med. heat till thickened and bubbly . Cook and stir for 1 min more.
