Kelp Bread & Butter Pickles

Ingredients

  • 30 Kelp slices, 4 or 5 inches long
  • 10 med. onions, sliced
  • 5 C apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp tumeric
  • 2 tsp celery seed
  • 2 C honey
  • 2 tsp mustard seed

Instructions

Bring to a boil. Simmer 10 min. Pack kelp in sterilized jars. Pour brine over kelp and onions to 1/2 in. of top. Put lids on jars and water bath 10 min. Makes 8 pints. Tastes like sweet relish.
