Oven Barbecue Spareribs

Ingredients

  • 4 pound pork spareribs
  • 1 tablespoon butter or margarine
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1/2 cup catsup
  • 1/3 cup chili sauce
  • 2 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoon onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon prepared mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • dash Louisiana hot sauce
  • 3 lemon slices, thin

Instructions

Cut ribs into serving size pieces. In large sauce pan, cover ribs with salted water and simmer until nearly tender, about 1 hour. Meanwhile, in a saucepan, melt butter; add garlic and cook 4 minutes. Add remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Drain ribs and place in a shallow pan. Pour boiling sauce over the ribs. Bake in 350 F open for 20 minutes, basting often with sauce. Makes 4 servings.
