Finger Licking Barbeque Ribs

My dad used to say that good barbeque recipes are an art form. If that is the case, these Finger Licking Barbeque ribs are a masterpiece. Covered in it's homemade barbeque sauce, these have their own unique flavor.

Ingredients

  • 3 pound pork spareribs
  • 1 can beer
  • water to cover
  • 6 peppercorns
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 2 onions, halved
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon molasses or brown sugar
  • 1 lemon
  • Worcestershire sauce
  • Pepper, to taste
  • Tabasco sauce, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
     
  2. Parboil ribs by placing in a large pot filled with beer and water. Add 1 onion and peppercorns. Bring to a boil and let simmer for 5 minutes.
     
  3. In medium sized saucepan heat oil, 1 chopped onion, and garlic. Cook until onions become translucent.
     
  4. Add vinegar, ketchup, molasses, lemon juice and a dash of Worcestershire sauce. Season with pepper and a Tabasco sauce. Bring to a simmer. Remove ribs from pot and brush on sauce.
     
  5. Place in roasting pan and roast in oven for 1 to 1 1/2 hours.
