Cherry Dumplings Knedle Wisniowe

Ingredients

  • 4 tbs bread crumbs
  • 3 tbs butter
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup flour
  • salt to taste
  • 1/2 pound of morello cherries
  • 4 tbs melted butter
  • 4 tbs sugar

Instructions

Combine bread crumbs, butter, egg yolks and milk to form a paste. Mix in flour and salt. Shape tiny dumplings, and insert 2 cherries into center of each. Drop into a deep pot of boiling water, and cook for about 5 minutes or until they rise to the top. Drain and serve, topped with butter and sugar.
