German Sweet Chocolate Pie

Ingredients

  • 4 ounce pkg. German sweet chocolate
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 12 ounce can evaporated milk
  • 1 1/4 cup sugar
  • 3 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/3 cup coconut
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 9" unbaked pie shell

Instructions

In a saucepan melt chocolate with butter over low heat, stirring until blended. Remove from heat and gradually blend in milk. Combine sugar, cornstarch and salt in a bowl. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Gradually blend in chocolate mixture. Pour filling into unbaked pie shell. Sprinkle with coconut and pecans. Bake at 375 degrees for 45 minutes or until browned and puffed.
