Fresh Strawberry Pie

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tbsp. sugar
  • 2 tbsp. milk

Instructions

Mix together flour, oil, salt, sugar and milk until oily. Press into the bottom and sides of a 9" pie plate with hands until even. Bake at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for approximately ten minutes until golden. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely before filling. Glaze Filling 1 cup sugar 2 tbsp. Karo clear syrup 3 tbsp. cornstarch 1 cup water 3 tbsp. dry strawberry Jell-O Mix sugar, Karo. cornstarch and water in a saucepan together and boil until thick. Remove from heat. To this mixture add 3 tbsp. dry strawberry Jell-O (not the sugar-free variety), and stir until dissolved. Add several drops red food coloring. Stir into Jell-O mixture, one quart of cleaned, hulled strawberries, either whole or sectioned if they are large. Pour berries and glaze into cooled shell. Top with your favorite whipped topping and chill for several hours until firm enough to slice.
