Basic Pie or Quiche Pastry (vegetable Oil Pastry)

Ingredients

  • 2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1 egg white
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1 to 5 tablespoons cold water

Instructions

Combine flour and salt. Add the egg white, oil, and water. Stir with a fork until just moistened. Slightly more water may be needed. Shape into a ball, and place between two sheets of wax paper. Roll to a 12 circle. Place in a 9 pie pan or a quiche dish. Flute edges. Prick bottom and sides with a fork. Bake at 450 degrees for 12 minutes until brown.
