Sweet Cranberry Orange Scones

Ingredients

  • 2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 stick of butter, frozen
  • 1/2 cup dried cranberries
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 large egg
  • For the Glaze:
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 large egg

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

  2. In a large mixing bowl combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt; whisk well.

  3. Grate the butter; using fingers, work into flour mixture. In a small bowl whisk sour cream and egg; blend into flour mixture, with hands, until well combined. Fold in cranberries.

  4. On a lightly floured surface shape dough into a ball and flatten into a 6" mound.

  5. Slice, like a pie, into 8 pieces and place on ungreased baking sheet. Bake for 15-18 minutes or until tops are a light golden brown. Cool on wire rack.

  6. For the Glaze:

  7. In a small saucepan, over medium heat, melt butter.

  8. Add remaining ingredients, stirring constantly until thickened. Remove from heat and spoon desired amount over scones.
